Can you imagine worship without music? Lyric and melody serve as channels of God's Holy Spirit in ways that may escape our conscious awareness. Music touches emotion, summons memory, and reminds us of the beauty and mystery of standing in holy presence. ( Traveling the Prayer Paths of Jesus by John Indermark)
Chris and Debbie Preston, our music director and organist, along with the 45-member adult choir, provide an extraordinary experience for each church attendee. Sometimes supplemented with horns, flute, trumpets, trombones, other instruments, as well as masterful solos and other special music, each week is an uplifting blessing for all who listen.
If you enjoy singing and praising God with others, this is the group for you. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the Sanctuary. A nursery is available. You may contactChris Preston, director.

Beautiful music is an integral part of all worship services at Universal City United Methodist Church. Along with the various choirs and musical performances, the Hosanna Chimes regularly provide music for the morning worship services. The 11-member group began in October 2000 using a set of tone chimes. They practice on Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary. We now have a brand new set of bells, thanks to the generosity of the congregation. Our director is Pam Daniel. She may be reached by email at pdaniel@ucumctx.org. Recording of Hosanna Chimes Concert, December 7, 2008 5 p.m. The Praise Team practices on Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary to prepare for each week's 9:30 a.m. contemporary worship service. We are always learning new praise and worship songs, and practicing familiar ones as we praise God with all our hearts. Drama, poetry, special events, dance, and other forms of creative expression are occasionally part of this worship service. Powerpoint and sound team members also attend practice. If you have questions or are interested in singing or playing an instrument, please contact the Worship Leader, William Daniel.
Fun activities including rhythm instruments, participation in the Children's Christmas Program and singing occasionally in worship. We want our children to be excited about coming to church. With that in mind, we will do our best to show them how exciting it is to be a Christian at UCUMC! The director of the Children's Choir is Stephanie Daniel.
