Missionary Update from Kim Buck

Thank you for your continued prayers for me, my team, the students, and our ministry. We had a wonderful retreat with students from the Humanitarian University organized by two of our Russian student leaders on that campus. It was a great experience for everyone and it was wonderful to see our student leaders taking steps of faith with their friends.
I have been discipling Nika from the Mining University and Marina from the Biotechnology University. Discipleship is my favorite part of ministry and so I was really grateful to spend time with these young women, helping them grow in their faith, and trusting God together for their universities. Both ladies took steps to share their faith with their fellow students. Nika organized a bi-monthly English Club. It was really fun to see God open up doors to talk about the Gospel. Nika also wanted to start a Bible study with other believers on her campus, but she didn’t know any! God did what only HE could do, and brought Nika into contact with 5 other believers. They began to meet together to pray for students and study God’s Word. God has also brought Marina into contact with 3 other believers. This kind of thing is such an answer to prayer, as we really desire our students to have a “team” of other students that they work alongside to reach their campus for Christ. Another joyful event that happened recently is that Marina was baptized! That day she exclaimed, “Today is just the beginning of new life with God!” Please pray with me that God will continue to use these women for His glory in bringing Russian students to Him.
The summer has been very busy and fulfilling! In May, 27 college students from Texas and Oklahoma, 9 staff, and 1 college pastor arrived in Moscow to spend a month serving alongside us in ministry. We taught 40 people the ways of the Moscow Metro, how to order food in Russian from McDonald’s, and more importantly, how to interact and invest in the lives of students in Moscow in a culturally relevant way! We are immensely grateful for the eternal impact that they are making here! Please pray that there would be lasting fruit in the lives of the Russian and American students. More recently, I have returned from a summer project of Russian National students ministering at the Black Sea. I will share more about that with you soon. Please pray for God to work significantly in the lives of everyone who was involved with this summer project.
Love in Christ,
Kim
